hi dr. jacobson, lots of good truth. do you think that the reason we judge others is because we judge our self? if we do, is one of the advantages of not judging that we will have more compassion for ourselves and therefore judge our self and therefore judge others less?

the reason we judge others is because we don’t want to judge ourselves. to avoid judging ourselves and feeling guilt, shame and self loathing, we project our judgments onto others and see everyone else as the problem. that’s why when we stop judging others and forgive others, we are actually forgiving our projections and healing ourselves. this is explained in detail in my book forgive to win!
