The Problem With Thanksgiving

The problem with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, etc. is that we go out of our way on these particular days to be considerate, loving and grateful. And then the next day we revert back to being thoughtless, inconsiderate, unloving, taking our loved ones for granted, and being caught up in ourselves. As long as we relegate selfless acts of gratitude and love to a handful of days a year we can be sure that our world will continue to be a mockery of the heaven on earth it could be. Bottom line: Take time every day to find ways to enrich the lives of others. Take time every day to love ye one another. http://forgivetowin.com

Hate The Sin, Not The Sinner. Love The Message, Not The Messenger

The problem with many people who profess to be devout worshipers of their religion, whatever it might be, is that they fanatically and zealously worship their God, their Guru, their whatever, but don’t worship the message. They don’t apply the principles in their lives. They don’t walk the talk, they don’t practice what their religion preaches. A tragic mistake that gives religion a bad name and doesn’t move humanity forward, towards greater compassion, communication and cooperation, which is the ultimate purpose of religion in the first place.

Guest Blog Post: “Forgive and Forget” by Liz Bush

I am a junior in high school.  I have been practicing a Chopin etude for a year.  I got a first place in the Northern Indiana School Band, Orchestra, and Vocal Association competition.  I am now at the state level where I have been watching and listening to the best piano students in Indiana.  It’s my turn, and I know that the worst thing I could do is to have a memory lapse.  I have just finished the first page, and I stop cold.  I can’t remember anything to even get started again.  The only thing I can do is start completely over, knowing that the best I can do now is get a 3rd or 4th place on a scale of 1st to 5th.  What am I going to do?

My goal now is simple: make music.  I did.  I came back, and not only got a 1st with the best points possible, the judge’s comment card came back with a single word on it.  The word Bravo was double underlined with an exclamation point!

The memories of this experience and others like it have sustained me through the worst times in my life.  That judge taught me that errors can be not only be forgiven, but forgotten.

Heal The Sick & Raise The Dead. Faith Can Move Mountains.

The Bible speaks of faith moving mountains. Turning water into wine. Multiplying bread and fish. Healing the sick and raising the dead. “All these things that I have done you can do and more.”

The Bible also speaks of forgiveness and love. Forgive thy enemies. Love and bless thy enemies. Do not judge lest you be judged. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

What if these two prevailing themes are related? What if the key to moving mountains, healing the sick and raising the dead is forgiveness, love and the end of judgment?

What if it’s not a what if? What if that’s the way it is?

Then this is our mission, each and every one of us: To love ye one another. There is nothing more important. There is nothing else to seek. There is nothing else to do.

If you love your planet, if you love your country, if you love your family and your children: Let go of judgment. Let go of thoughts of vengeance. Let go of the belief in differences.

Recognize the Oneness of everything. See yourself in everyone and everything. We’re all in this together.

There can be no eternal peace, no everlasting joy if we leave even one soul behind. Love ye one another.

Judging A Book By Its Cover – The Importance Of Balance

It’s important to put your best foot forward but it’s also important to maintain balance which sometimes might demand that we simply put a foot forward, whether it be the best one or not, while attending to other equally important priorities.

If It’s Broke, Fix It: Pay Attention To Self-Sabotaging Behaviors

Whether or not you believe spiritual principles can lead you towards material success of moving mountains proportions is an issue you’re entitled to debate. But it would be a mistake to debate whether or not your self-sabotaging behaviors are getting in the way of your success. Look at the stuff of your day. Look at the choices you make. Look at the things you do that either propel you forward or keep you stuck. Eliminating even one self-sabotaging behavior can be very empowering and self-actualizing. Do it now.

Go After Your Dreams. Do It Now.

“If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing badly.” ~ Robert MacPhee, author of Manifesting For Non-Gurus. Point being: We’ve all got to start somewhere. The key is to start and not feel shamed by lack of skills such that we discourage, demoralize and defeat ourselves. Stay on the path. Stay on your intention. Learn. Grow. Persevere. Practice. Do it now.
